FUEL ECLI is a European project funded under the European Union Justice Programme (JUST), coordinated by the University of Turin, with principal investigator Prof. Riccardo de Caria.
The project aims to improve access to judicial decisions across Europe by developing innovative AI-assisted tools for the retrieval, indexing, multilingual search and translation of case law. Building upon the European Case Law Identifier (ECLI), FUEL ECLI seeks to facilitate cross-border legal research and contribute to a more accessible, interoperable and digitally connected European Area of Justice.
Bringing together legal scholars, computer scientists, judicial institutions, language experts and technology providers, the consortium will develop open and reusable solutions supporting judges, lawyers, public authorities, researchers and citizens in accessing and understanding European case law.
Project duration: September 2026 – September 2028
